Cardiac Sonographer – Echo Technologist

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to work as a Cardiac Sonographer. 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Cardiac Sonographer will be responsible for performing diagnostic echocardiograms to assist in the assessment of cardiac conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently, will be detail oriented, proficient in cardiac imaging techniques, and committed to delivering excellent patient care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct Echocardiograms: Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) to evaluate cardiac function, structure, and blood flow.
  • Patient Interaction: Explain procedures to patients, ensure comfort, and obtain accurate patient history to support diagnostic accuracy.
  • Image Analysis: Analyze echocardiographic images to identify and document abnormalities or changes in cardiac function and structure.
  • Documentation: Accurately record and maintain patient information, test results, and technical details in electronic health records (EHR) and prepare detailed reports for review by physicians.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cardiologists, primary care physicians, and other healthcare professionals to integrate echocardiographic findings into patient care plans.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain echocardiographic equipment, perform quality checks, and report any malfunctions or issues.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control procedures, and regulatory guidelines to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about cardiac conditions and echocardiographic procedures as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Education: Associate's or bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiac Sonography, or a related field. and/or Cardiovascular Sonography program.
  • Certification: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer, preferably in a clinical or outpatient setting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating echocardiographic equipment and other equipment involved with sharing studies with cardiology provider.
  • Clinical Skills: Proficient in performing a variety of cardiac imaging techniques and strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology with the ability to identify and report abnormalities.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Detail Oriented: High attention to detail and accuracy in performing and documenting echocardiographic procedures.
  • Compassionate Care: Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic and patient centered care.
  • Other duties as assigned
