Infrastructure & Security Engineer
About this role
We are looking for an Infrastructure & Security Engineer with 6+ years of experience to be the first dedicated hire in this function and own the platform team – encompassing DevOps, infrastructure, and security – at a high-growth fintech startup. You'll work directly with the CTO to define and execute the infrastructure and security strategy, migrating legacy systems, automating security programs, and building developer tooling from the ground up. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role where you'll shape foundational decisions and grow into a team lead as the engineering org scales. The ideal candidate brings a security-first mindset honed in a regulated B2B SaaS environment and thrives in ambiguity.
What you will be doing
Leading the platform team (DevOps, infrastructure, security) as the first dedicated hire – setting up procedures, policies, and toolsets from scratch
Migrating legacy infrastructure to modern systems on AWS and shoring up cloud architecture in the first few months
Automating and maintaining the security program – including ongoing SOC 2 compliance, AI policies, and incident response workflows
Building and improving CI/CD pipelines, developer tools, and deployment workflows to increase engineering velocity
Advising leadership on security best practices and embedding a security-first mindset across the engineering organization
