Axis Connected Technologies is a growing technology integration company serving commercial, hospitality, country club, restaurant, multifamily, and residential clients throughout Florida.
We design, install, program, and support professional AV, networking, structured cabling, DIRECTV commercial systems, access control, surveillance, and integrated technology solutions.
We are looking for an experienced Lead Low-Voltage / AV Technician who can take ownership of projects in the field and help lead our installation team.
The Position
This is not an entry-level position.
We are looking for someone who can be handed a scope of work, drawings, equipment and a crew and take responsibility for getting the job completed correctly and professionally.
The right person needs to be technically capable, organized, dependable, comfortable communicating with customers, and able to identify problems before they become emergencies.
You will work closely with our Director of Technology and ownership to turn engineered systems into successful installations in the field.
Responsibilities
- Lead commercial low-voltage and AV installations from prewire through final installation
- Direct and assist technicians on active jobsites
- Read scopes of work, plans, drawings and equipment lists
- Install and terminate Cat6/Cat6A, coax, speaker wire and other low-voltage cabling
- Install TVs, displays, racks, network equipment, speakers, cameras and related equipment
- Build and dress professional equipment racks
- Perform Cat6 terminations, testing and troubleshooting
- Install and troubleshoot commercial AV and distributed audio systems
- Assist with UniFi networking installations, including gateways, switches and wireless access points
- Install and service commercial DIRECTV systems and distribution equipment
- Assist with access-control and surveillance installations
- Troubleshoot cabling, network, AV and equipment issues in the field
- Coordinate daily field activities with management
- Track materials and immediately communicate shortages or jobsite issues
- Maintain clean, organized and professional jobsites
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors and other trades
- Complete punch lists and provide accurate project status updates
- Take responsibility for company tools, equipment and vehicles
- Travel within Florida when required for projects
Experience We're Looking For
Strong experience in several of the following areas is preferred:
- Commercial low-voltage installation
- Structured cabling
- Cat6/Cat6A termination and testing
- Commercial AV
- 70-volt distributed audio
- TV/display installation
- Equipment rack building
- UniFi or similar commercial networking
- DIRECTV commercial systems
- Q-SYS systems
- Surveillance/camera systems
- Access control
- Fiber installation or troubleshooting
You do not need to be an expert in every system we install. We are looking for someone with strong low-voltage fundamentals who can learn, lead and solve problems.

Requirements
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work on ladders and lift/install televisions and AV equipment
- Ability to work in attics, equipment rooms, outdoor environments and active construction sites
- Ability to travel when projects require it
- Professional appearance and communication skills
- Prior low-voltage field experience required
- Leadership or lead-technician experience strongly preferred
Compensation
Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and technical ability.
