About the role | Mō te tūranga:
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our Anatomical Pathology team in a permanent, full-time role (80 hours per fortnight). This is an excellent opportunity to build your expertise in a specialised and rewarding field while contributing to high-quality diagnostic services that support patient care.

You will be highly organised, detail-focused, and approachable, with strong analytical skills and a commitment to accuracy. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a strong willingness to learn, thriving in a precise and fast-paced laboratory environment while working effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory tests and analyses in anatomical pathology.
  • Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with the pathology team.
  • Follow quality standards and ensure patient care focus.
  • Continuously develop skills and adapt to specialized procedures.
  • Organize and manage workflow efficiently in a demanding environment.


About you | He kōrero mōu
To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with good record keeping skills.
  • The ability to work independently, while in a supported role.
  • Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
  • Flexibility with your working hours will be invaluable to the team.
  • A sound knowledge of laboratory operations including safety, operation of equipment and hands-on practical Histology experience preferred.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand.

If you do not yet have your registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand, we will also consider candidates who are in the process of becoming qualified.
