Recovery doesn't stop when treatment ends for the day.

As a Resident Advocate, you help create a safe, supportive, and recovery-focused environment for individuals residing in Avivo's Transitional Recovery Lodging program. You are often the person participants turn to when they need support, encouragement, problem-solving assistance, or simply someone who believes in their ability to move forward.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, supporting people through challenges, and helping create a community where individuals can focus on recovery, stability, and long-term success.

This position is On-Call for the following shift groupings : 8:00am - 4:30pm, 3pm - 11:30pm, 11:30pm - 8:00am. Applicants must be able to actively pick up shifts on short notice needed.

What You'll Do

Build positive, supportive relationships with participants in recovery
Help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming living environment
Monitor building activity and manage resident and guest access
Respond to participant needs by providing food, supplies, and other essential resources
Answer participant calls and provide support, problem-solving, and guidance
Conduct crisis prevention and intervention activities to support housing stability and participant wellbeing
Promote recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and harm reduction practices
Encourage participation in pro-social, health, and wellness activities
Assist participants with transportation needs, appointments, and community connections
Complete required documentation and maintain accurate participant records
Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to support participant success

QualificationsWhat You Offer

A high school diploma or equivalent, with a course of study in health or human services leading to a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or associate degree.
Minimum 2 years' experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and chemical health challenges.
Experience with single adults who have experienced long-term homelessness/with the target population served.
Demonstrated understanding of the recovery philosophy and recovery-oriented behavioral health services.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities.
Good communication skills and a customer service attitude.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries with participants.
