About the role

Do you enjoy solving problems, finding answers, improving processes, and helping people navigate challenges?

We're looking for a Coordinator, People to join our People Services team and play a key role in delivering a responsive, people-centred HR service across the organisation.

As the first point of contact for HR queries, you'll be the person who helps leaders and employees find the right answers, navigate people processes, and access support when they need it.

You'll get exposure to the full employee lifecycle, including:

  • Providing day-to-day HR advice and support through our AskHR service
  • Coordinating recruitment, onboarding, employment changes, and offboarding activities
  • Preparing employment documentation and maintaining employee records
  • Supporting leaders with people processes and self-service tools
  • Troubleshooting queries, researching solutions, and escalating complex matters when needed
  • Contributing to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Helping ensure our systems, documentation, and processes are accurate, efficient, and fit for purpose

 

This is an excellent opportunity to build broad HR experience while learning from experienced People and Capability professionals.

 

The salary band for this role is $65 340 to $79 560. Starting salaries are based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, as well as internal relativities.

The Aviation Security Service is an operational unit within the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand, the government agency responsible for managing New Zealand’s civil aviation system.

You’ll know us from our security screening points at New Zealand airports, but we also run an awesome team of explosive detector dogs and provide a wide range of security services which help keep aviation and our large airports secure.

Our role is to deliver world-class aviation security, while enabling a high quality, responsive passenger experience.

Our core functions and activities include

  • Screening and searching passengers, crew, airport workers, baggage, aircraft, cargo.
  • Undertaking security patrols and escorts.
  • Managing the airport identity card system.
  • Collaborating with other domestic and international security and border agencies.

To deliver safe and secure skies, we work closely with border and government agencies both domestically and internationally, such as Customs, MPI, and Police.
