Job DetailsJob Location: Avfuel Corp - Ann Arbor, MI 48108Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High School/GED EquivalentJob Shift: DayAvfuel's global network includes a fueling network of over 3,000 worldwide locations and over 650 Avfuel Branded Dealers throughout North America and Europe. Avfuel is securely and uniquely positioned in the industry, providing services to airlines, freight and cargo companies, corporate flight departments, airports and municipalities, fixed-based operators (FBO's), crop dusters, helicopters, and the military.
Duties/Responsibilities
Assist Avfuel's customers and internal staff with arranging fuel sales worldwide
Support Contract Fuel and other Avfuel business lines
Quote domestic and international fuel prices
Relay orders to all necessary parties
Maintain files and records of customer requests, changes, special rates and fees
Typical schedule is weekdays 12 p.m. - 9 p.m., potentially requires coverage for one weekend day
Learn detailed aspects of the aviation fuel sales business at airports worldwide
Communicate with customers, airports, and suppliers via email, telephone, and facsimile
Learn and understand customer types
Identification of aircraft types
Understand and use Avfuel pricing philosophies
Exercise strong problem solving skills
Understand basic aviation taxes and how they relate to aircraft operators
Dispatch fueling operations
Maintain and update agreements, rates & fees
Set up new contract fuel agent locations
Willingness to fill in where needed - when needed
Demonstrate a willingness to work hard and have fun
Ability to work a varying schedule including evenings and weekends
QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities
Extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel
Displays initiative and a willingness to spend time on the telephone
Organized with attention to detail
A direct understanding of the aviation industry either obtained through employment, educational experience, or hands on development within Avfuel/Avflight
Ability to navigate and understand aviation related taxes pertaining to fuel
Ability to understand and interface with the various FBO-facing software programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to learn quickly and to creatively solve new problems
Ability to negotiate and settle differences quickly and peacefully.
Ability to act as a team player.
Ability to work a varying schedule including evenings and weekends
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree with relatable experience
Proficiency with Microsoft products, web-based, and proprietary products
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent internal and external customer service skills
Timely, immediate action and follow-through to completion
Exceptional multi-tasking skills in a fast paced work environment
Aviation experience is a plus
Excellent customer service in a high volume environment
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities
