Senior Electronics Safety Engineer

Nedre Vats, Norway · On-site

About this role

We are looking for a Senior Electronics Safety Engineer to join our R&D team and take a central role in developing our electronics safety competence. Your initial focus will be the electronic design and development of a new safety controller, working hands-on with PCB design, safety logic and redundancy, as well as wireless communication.

As our specialist within electronics safety, you will help shape how we approach this area across R&D and contribute to future safety electronics development across different AutoStore products. You will work closely with engineers across disciplines, guide less experienced engineers, and collaborate with external certification partners to bring safe and reliable solutions from design through validation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Safety Electronics: Drive the design and development of safety electronics, from architecture and schematics through PCB design, validation, and release to production.

  • Technical Expertise: Develop solutions around safety logic and redundancy, helping build electronics safety competence across R&D.

  • Product Development: Apply your expertise across the AutoStore product portfolio, including safety electronics and wireless communication solutions.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate technical activities across disciplines and work with external partners on safety certification and validation.

  • Planning & Delivery: Contribute to planning and provide clear visibility on technical deliverables, documentation, and milestones.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in electronics engineering, with strong experience in wireless communication and safety electronics, including analog and digital design, simulation, and testing.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Embedded Systems, Cybernetics/Robotics, or a related field.

  • Hands-on experience across the full PCB development cycle, from architecture and schematic design to layout, bring-up, validation, and release to production, including EMC-aware design.

  • Experience with functional safety and compliance for industrial products, ideally including standards such as IEC 61508, ISO 13849, or IEC 62061.

  • Experience with relevant electronics technologies and tools such as Altium, LTSpice, STM32 microcontrollers, and cable harness design. Knowledge of DFM/DFT, high-volume production, or embedded hardware cybersecurity is an advantage.

We Offer

  • A Collaborative & Inclusive Culture where we celebrate and value everyone's contributions, encouraging diverse perspectives in decision-making.

  • Work-Life Balance & Well-being: We offer 1 hour per week of paid exercise, health insurance, and a generous pension plan, prioritizing your mental and physical well-being.

  • A Creative and Safe Workplace by joining a company experiencing rapid growth, with the stability of being Norway's first unicorn listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

  • International and Supportive Environment within a Norwegian multinational that values collaboration and innovation with a structured onboarding plan and career opportunities within the company
