Maintenance and Field Technician
About this role
We are looking for a Maintenance & Field Technician to join our R&D Test team and help keep AutoStore's hardware test environment running at its best. In this hands-on role, you will maintain our fleet of robots, ports, and test equipment, ensuring our Test Engineers can focus on developing and validating the next generation of AutoStore products.
Working with both prototypes and released products, you will carry out planned maintenance, troubleshoot unexpected failures, manage spare parts, and support hardware validation activities. You will also have the opportunity to visit customer sites across Europe to help maintain validation systems, with occasional travel as part of the role.
If you enjoy practical problem-solving, working independently, and getting to know how complex electro-mechanical systems work, this is an excellent opportunity to build broad technical expertise while supporting the development of world-class warehouse automation solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repair: Perform planned maintenance and troubleshooting on AutoStore's robots, ports, and test equipment to keep our R&D test environment operational.
Planning & Spare Parts: Plan maintenance activities and manage spare parts to ensure equipment is available when needed.
Test Equipment: Support modifications, upgrades, and maintenance of test grids and other test equipment.
Hardware Validation: Maintain validation hardware, including occasional support at customer sites across Europe.
Team Support: Work closely with Test Engineers, providing hands-on support with mechanical systems and test activities when required.
Job Requirements:
Relevant technical background in mechanics, electromechanics, or electrical disciplines, such as a Fagbrev, Teknisk Fagskole, or equivalent practical experience.
Hands-on experience working with mechanical or electro-mechanical products.
Good communication skills in English. Norwegian is an advantage.
A structured and practical approach to planning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Comfortable using digital tools to plan, document, and manage maintenance activities.
Curious and eager to learn, with the ability to work both from established procedures and on early-stage prototypes.
This role is based across our HQ in Nedre Vats and our Academy in Husøy (Vindafjord).
Application deadline: August 23rd. Please note that we review applications continuously—if this opportunity excites you, we encourage you to apply as early as possible! All inquiries are treated confidentially.
