Launch Industrial Engineering Manager

In this role you will be responsible for leading the plant launch organization and executing new product launches from concept through full production in a safety-critical manufacturing environment.
This role owns launch performance, ensuring all program milestones are achieved in alignment with APQP standards, customer requirements, and internal operational targets.
The Launch Manager serves as the direct reporting authority for the plant launch organization, including Industrial Engineers and Project Quality Engineers, and is accountable for aligning team performance, priorities, and deliverables to achieve successful launch execution and stable production.
You will need to deliver production-ready processes that consistently produce safe, high-quality parts at the required rate and cost.

• Lead end-to-end product launch activities in alignment with APQP methodology.
• Own and manage launch timelines, milestones, and deliverables across all phases of the launch lifecycle.
• Serve as the direct reporting manager for the plant launch organization, including Industrial Engineers and Project Quality Engineers.
• Set priorities, assign work, and ensure accountability for all engineering and quality deliverables supporting launch.
• Develop team capability through coaching, performance management, and technical leadership in launch execution.
• Lead cross-functional communication and alignment across engineering, quality, operations, and supply chain.
• Drive proactive risk identification, escalation, and mitigation throughout the launch process.
• Plan and oversee production trials, including pilot builds and run-at-rate events, ensuring manufacturing readiness.
• Ensure process validation, tooling readiness, and operator training are completed prior to production release.
• Lead PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) execution, ensuring all customer requirements are met and submissions are successful.
• Ensure measurement systems are validated (GR&R) prior to process capability analysis.
• Monitor and validate process capability (Cpk) to meet defined targets, including safety-critical requirements.
• Drive the use of SPC and data analysis to manage launch performance and identify variation.
• Track and improve key performance metrics including First Pass Yield (FPY), scrap rate, OEE, and on-time delivery.
• Lead structured problem-solving efforts (A3, 8D) to resolve launch-related issues and prevent recurrence.
• Oversee post-launch stabilization, ensuring consistent performance prior to handoff to operations.
• Ensure all launch documentation, control plans, and standard work are complete and implemented.
If you have/are:
Understanding of Airbag assembly processes, Autoliv standards, previous management experience
This role will travel and have global meetings during off work hours.
A minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in an Automotive or Manufacturing company
Bachelor's or Engineering Degree in a related field.
