Automation and PLC Advanced Engineer
About this role
In this role you will be responsible for develop PLC, HMI and peripheral devices code for sewing and modules area according requested in SOW specifications and Autoliv Standards
Should you be interested in overseeing these tasks and aiming for enhanced performance standards, your role will involve:
Review and validate machine control systems and electrical designs, ensuring PLC programming, electrical schematics, and control architectures comply with Autoliv standards and project requirements.
Develop, program, and optimize machine automation systems, including online and offline programming, automatic sequences, manual movements, and machine functionality validation.
Ensure machinery safety, reliability, and recoverability, validating interlocks, collision prevention mechanisms, and fault recovery processes to support safe operation.
Support equipment development, testing, and validation activities, including creation of verification routines (MVPs), calibration programs (gages), and participation in internal and customer acceptance validations.
Provide technical support throughout the machine lifecycle, including design reviews, electronic component selection, software and firmware updates, issue resolution, and closure of actions identified during validation activities.
If you have/are:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, with a strong foundation in industrial automation and control systems.
Hands-on experience with PLC programming and HMI development, including Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, FactoryTalk View Studio, and TIA Portal.
Knowledge of industrial automation technologies, including CIP Motion, Ethernet/IP, Profinet networks, torque controllers, machine vision systems, and barcode readers.
Experience with industrial robotics, particularly FANUC robots (Intermediate-Advanced) and ABB robots (Basic-Intermediate), including programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in automation and controls engineering, with expertise in machine validation, commissioning, Buy-Off/MB processes, troubleshooting, and supporting automated manufacturing equipment.
