The Senior Organization Effectiveness (OE) Consultant serves as a strategic internal consultant to Business Leaders and People Business Partners, helping to shape and enable how Autodesk’s organizations operate, grow, and transform.

This role partners across business and People & Places (PPL) teams to diagnose organizational needs, define effective operating models, and deliver solutions that improve organizational health, agility, and performance. Each Senior OE Consultant aligns to a specific organization or function at Autodesk and is part of the broader Organization Effectiveness center of excellence, bringing expertise in organization design, transformation, workforce planning, org health, and human + AI work design to Autodesk.

To be successful, the Senior OE Consultant will build strong, trusted relationships across the business, operate as a thought partner and problem solver, and collaborate across disciplines within People & Places to deliver integrated, practical solutions. The role combines strategic insight, systems thinking, and hands-on consulting capability to help leaders create and transform organizations where people and businesses thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders and People Business Partners (PBPs) to assess organizational effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve structure, capabilities, and ways of working.
  • Design and deliver organization-level solutions in domains such as organization design, organization transformation, change management, and work design, including how roles, teams, and ways of working evolve as humans and AI work more closely together.
  • Translate business strategy into organizational implications, defining the capabilities, structures, operating model, and workforce implications needed for success.
  • Provide expert consultation on organization effectiveness frameworks, tools, and practices.
  • As needed, provide project leadership and execution support on specific organization design and transformation efforts
  • Collaborate across the OE Center of Excellence (Workforce Planning and M&A) and other People & Places teams to ensure cohesive solutions that address business needs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and to their People Business Partners, helping to clarify priorities, align leadership teams, and strengthen decision-making and accountability structures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners to bring in relevant benchmarks, insights, and capabilities.
  • Contribute to the growth and maturity of the OE discipline at Autodesk by codifying learnings, refining shared tools and playbooks, and improving methodologies, tools, and practices for scale.

Qualifications

  • 6-8+ years of experience in organization effectiveness, org design, transformation, workforce or operating model design, or related internal consulting roles.
  • Proven success partnering with senior business leaders, PBPs, and cross-functional partners to diagnose organizational issues, frame decisions, and deliver solutions that drive measurable business impact.
  • Deep understanding of organizational systems, structures, operating models, and dynamics, with the ability to connect strategy, design, work, and people implications.
  • Strong consulting, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to structure problems, develop clear recommendations, and influence credibly across levels.
  • Sound judgment and comfort operating in ambiguous environments, with the ability to guide leaders through complex organizational tradeoffs.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic execution.
  • Experience navigating complex, matrixed organizations and driving collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Advanced degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business, or related field preferred.

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $116,000 and $208,120. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
