Workshop Foreman Job DescriptionJob Purpose

The Workshop Foreman is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring that vehicle repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. The role includes managing technicians, maintaining productivity, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support workshop technicians.
  • Allocate and monitor daily repair and service jobs.
  • Perform quality control inspections before vehicle delivery.
  • Assist with diagnosing complex vehicle faults.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Monitor workshop productivity and efficiency.
  • Liaise with Service Advisors regarding repair progress.
  • Maintain workshop equipment and housekeeping standards.
Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Qualified Motor Mechanic (Red Seal Trade Test).
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a qualified technician.
  • At least 2 years' supervisory experience in an automotive workshop.
  • Strong leadership, technical diagnostic, and communication skills.

Salary: Market-related and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
