Connections & Women's Ministry Lead

Summary
The Connections and Women’s Ministry Lead (CWML) at a congregation of The Austin Stone Community Church serves to equip and mobilize leaders and partners across the congregation. The CWML will manage the process by which those on the outside will visit, those that visit will return regularly, and those that are regular attenders will join with the mission and vision of Austin Stone Community Church as partners. The CWML will also advocate for a flourishing women’s ministry at their congregation that is both consistent in mission, vision and values with the overall ministry and serves the unique needs of women in that context. The CWML will report to the Spiritual Formation Director/Pastor.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure the strategies for connections and women’s ministry are implemented at the congregation.
- Lead the connections teams, maintaining a culture of hospitality. May also lead the welcome teams.
- Recruit, develop, equip, and resource Women’s Ministry and Connections team leaders.
- Under the leadership of the Spiritual Formation Director, plan, promote and execute all congregation women’s events and resources.
- Create and lead events that assist with the connections and assimilation process.
- Create pathways and processes to connect people to service teams.
- Identify and respond to unique discipleship needs within the congregation and provide additional opportunities for the assimilation, spiritual formation, mobilization, and leadership development of women.
- Support the elders and CP/CXP in the shepherding and pastoral care of women and Women’s Ministry volunteers.
- Ensure follow up, continued connection and back-end follow through.
- Assess and report on ministry effectiveness and make improvements as needed.
- Maintain records and steward the allotted ministry budget.
- Attend, and participate in all required events and activities for The Austin Stone, including staff meetings, prayer meetings, special events, retreats and staff development days.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree, preferred
- 2 years of experience in a vocational ministry role, or equivalent experience
- Previous experience shepherding people and providing pastoral care, preferred
- Experience leading volunteers, preferred

Administration - Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and implement ministry programming. Integrate multiple perspectives and synthesize them into a cohesive plan. Strong ability to support multiple projects simultaneously, with dependability and excellence. Understanding of The Austin Stone’s ministry strategy and competency in application of strategies in equipping and mobilization. Able to create and manage a ministry budget.
Interpersonal Skills & Communication - Energized by meeting, engaging and connecting with others. Has clarity of speech and proper use of grammar. Able to negotiate and make effective presentations to diverse groups. Able to communicate and work within a complex organizational structure with multiple layers of input. Able to teach and train in a variety of settings.
Detail Oriented & Organizational Skills - Proven skills in creating, implementing, maintaining, and following through on processes that ensure people are engaged, cared for, informed and connected. Ability to coordinate multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Able to successfully develop new and better ways to work and promote a continuous improvement mentality.
Leadership Development - Ability to lead, recruit, resource, and mobilize volunteer teams to scale. Ability to recruit, manage, and lead resident/intern teams. Proven capacity to multiply leaders (staff, deacons, volunteers, etc.) who hold and can communicate the church's values.
Collaborative Leadership - Strong complementary leadership skills and capacity to lead in concert with other leaders. Demonstrated ability to network and connect with leaders toward Kingdom outcomes. Collaborate across the organization and with various ministry partners. Cultivate purpose-driven, relational networks.

- Occasional lifting of objects up to 30 pounds.
- Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling.
- Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as a computer keyboard, mouse, and similar machines.

As part of our child safety program, employees in this role will be required to participate in a child safety screening and training process upon hire.
