No Ophthalmic Experience? We’ll Train You.
You don't need previous eye care experience to get started. In fact, this position is designed to provide a strong entry point into the medical field. What Your Day May Look Like
You will help create a welcoming, organized, and supportive experience for every patient.
During triage, you'll listen to patient concerns, answer questions, and help guide patients through their visit. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you'll also:
- Obtain and document medical histories
- Perform vision testing and diagnostic imaging
- Prepare exam rooms
- Record clinical notes and patient information
- Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Help patients feel informed and comfortable throughout their care
The position may include travel between North side clinics, Georgetown and Round Rock.

Additional Details
- Schedule varies according to assigned location, duties, and/or physician
- Generally Monday through Friday
- Very occasional weekend days may be required
- Spanish bilingual skills are a huge plus
- Valid Texas driver's license and satisfactory driving record required
- Hourly, FLSA non-exempt position with overtime eligibility
Physical Requirements
This role includes standing for up to six hours per day, along with regular sitting and walking. You must be able to communicate, talk and hear in person and by telephone, use your hands to handle and manipulate objects or controls, and reach with your hands and arms.
You will regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch and may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes viewing multiple computer screens, close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Viewing images and operating computer devices constantly.
