Overview

Hand Forms various materials (steel, titanium and aluminum) to engineering drawing requirements

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clocks into jobs in the ERP system.
  • Understands different material types.
  • Manipulates material with proper tooling.
  • Uses Form Tooling/Templates to determine shapes of parts.
  • Uses check fixtures for parts.
  • Uses Arbor Press.
  • Reads calipers, micrometers, straight edges, radius gauges and protractors.
  • Understands what flatness, straightness and angles are and how to form them.
  • Understands allowed working time for forming.
  • Knowledge of Tempers and Gauges of materials.
  • Recognizes Corrosion and Burns after Heat Treat.
  • Proper handling and containment of parts to be processes.
  • Understands proper surface preparation.
  • Responsible for the quality of his/her own work.
  • Wears required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Keeps work space clean and organized.

  • Must be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy.
  • Works well with hands and has knowledge of tools
  • Must be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy.
  • Professional communication skills
  • Must be able to communicate well with co-workers on your shift plus other shifts
  • Must be able to listen, take direction as well as get along with co-workers
  • Must be able to do simple math
  • Familiar with and capable of using basic and specialty hand tools including precision measuring equipment.
  • Attend and actively participate in training classes and safety sessions
  • Successfully complete all annual safety training
  • Wears required PPE at all times

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:            Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of handforming or similar manufacturing experience preferred.

        • Forklift
        • Shrinker/Stretcher
        • Hydro Press
        • Arbor Press
        • Hammers

Physical Demands:

        • Regularly required to stand, sit, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
        • Able to use hammers/pound repetitively for extended periods of time.

Work Environment:

        • Climate controlled manufacturing environment
        • Occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, heat, cold or chemicals
