The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Claims Support Administrator to join our Wellington-based Claims team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone with experience in administration, customer service, retail, or data entry who is looking to build a career in the insurance industry. Working closely with Case Managers, you will provide high-quality administrative and operational support, ensuring claims-related activities are processed accurately and within required timeframes to deliver positive customer outcomes.

In this role, you will manage a high volume of administrative tasks including claims data entry, handling customer and adviser correspondence, triaging emails, requesting supporting information from external providers, processing payments and invoices, and coordinating appointments and assessments.

We're looking for someone with exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage a high volume of tasks while maintaining accuracy. You'll be a confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, a collaborative approach to teamwork, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment. A customer-focused attitude and positive, proactive mindset will set you up for success in this role.

This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity that offers a hybrid working arrangement, with 50% onsite attendance per fortnight following an initial week of onsite training.

How will you make an impact?

  • Provide timely and accurate administrative support to the Claims team, ensuring a seamless customer experience.

  • Manage claims-related data entry, documentation, and correspondence with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Support the end-to-end claims process by coordinating information requests, payments, and customer appointments.

  • Monitor and triage shared inboxes, ensuring customer and adviser enquiries are responded to promptly.

  • Assist with the processing of new claims and lower-complexity claims in line with business procedures and service standards.

  • Build positive relationships with customers, advisers, medical providers, and internal stakeholders.

  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment while maintaining productivity and accuracy in a fast-paced setting.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following:

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers, advisers and internal stakeholders.

  • Proven organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.

  • A positive, adaptable and team-oriented approach, with a strong customer focus and willingness to learn.

  • Previous experience in administration, customer service, retail or data entry roles.

  • Life insurance or financial services industry experience will be highly regarded.
