Hours:

This is a part-time (20 hours/week), position with expected hours to be worked during business hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be available during spring, fall, or summer breaks at the need of the department and/or program. Evening hours or weekends may be scheduled as needed/available.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Student Government Coordinator, the Graduate Assistant provides support to the Student Government Coordinator in advising student leaders  as they oversee and allocate budgets, and in processing financial paperwork.

Essential Job Functions:

  • As directed, co‐advises student leaders on budget management, allocation of funding, and ASI financial processes
  • Appropriately apply ASI and University policies and procedures
  • As directed, meet individually with student leaders to provide guidance on event development and budget management
  • Apply policies and procedures in review of financial paperwork
  • As directed, co-facilitate student leadership training for student leaders throughout the year, including career leadership and skill development
  • Other duties as assigned

Customer Service & Collaboration:

  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with various students, outside vendors, A.S. and University departments 

Safety:

  • Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of staff and customers as first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and other safety policies.
  • Reports accidents to supervisor and reviews changes required to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Reports maintenance problems and/or broken and unsafe equipment to the appropriate party or supervisor immediately

Requirements:

  • B.S./B.A. Degree required
  • Must be a currently enrolled California State University Fullerton student in good academic standing
  • Must be enrolled/enrolling in a graduate degree program focusing on higher education or student affairs

    • Bloodborne Pathogens
    • Campus Health and Safety Requirements
    • CSU’S Discrimination Harassment Prevention Program
    • Data Security and FERPA
    • Gender Equity and Title IX
    • Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)

Work Environment:

  • General office environment
  • Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking around campus.
  • The working environment is generally favorable
  • Lighting and temperature are adequate
  • There are no hazardous or unpleasant work conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
  • Work is generally performed in an office environment, with standard office equipment available

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift, lower, push and pull loads ranging in weight from 5-35 lbs
