Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Java Developer to design, build, and maintain high-performance microservices. You will leverage the Quarkus framework to deliver cloud-native applications, integrate real-time event streaming via Apache Kafka, and orchestrate complex business workflows using BPMN platforms. This role requires full-time, on-site collaboration at our office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Backend Development: Design and develop scalable, low-latency microservices using Java and the Quarkus framework. [1, 2, 3]
  • Event-Driven Architecture: Implement, optimize, and maintain real-time data pipelines and message streaming using Apache Kafka. [1, 2, 3]
  • Workflow Automation: Model, execute, and monitor complex business processes by building and integrating BPMN engines (e.g., Camunda, jBPM). [1, 2]
  • Performance Optimization: Utilize Quarkus features for fast startup times and low memory footprints in containerised environments (Docker/Kubernetes). [1, 2]
  • On-Site Collaboration: Work daily from the office to participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and cross-functional brainstorming sessions.

Technical Requirements

  • Core Expertise: Strong proficiency in Java (version 11 or higher preferred) and object-oriented design principles.
  • Frameworks: Hands-on experience building production-grade microservices with Quarkus.
  • Messaging & Streaming: Solid understanding of Apache Kafka, including topics, partitions, producers, consumers, and ecosystem tools.
  • Process Modeling: Deep conceptual and practical understanding of BPMN 2.0 standards and workflow automation tools.
  • Databases: Experience with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to debug complex, distributed asynchronous systems.

Salary: Max early mid 9 Gross PKWT & Max early Senior 16 PKWT
