About this role

Technical Writer (Engineering)

About the Role

Clear, precise documentation is not just a deliverable at ARX Robotics, it is part of how we build trust with the militaries and operators who rely on our systems in the field. As our Technical Writer (Engineering), you will own the documentation that bridges complex engineering reality and the people who operate, maintain, and certify our robotic platforms.

You will work shoulder to shoulder with System Engineering, Safety and Mission Assurance, and Product Development, translating highly technical content into structured, accessible, and regulation-compliant documentation. Your work will directly support the deployment and safe operation of some of the most advanced autonomous ground systems in Europe.

What You'll Build

  • A comprehensive library of technical documentation for military and dual-use robotic systems, including operating manuals, maintenance instructions, and configuration records.
  • CE documentation packages aligned with applicable regulations, including the Machinery Regulation, EMC Directive, Radio Equipment Directive, and Low Voltage Directive.
  • Technical illustrations, schematics, and graphics that make complex system architectures understandable at a glance.
  • Structured electronic documentation systems that support both internal teams and external customer personnel across the product lifecycle.
  • A reliable change management process, ensuring documentation stays current and accurate as systems evolve.
  • Customer-facing documentation tailored to the needs of operators and maintenance personnel in demanding environments.
  • Project documentation plans that keep deliverables on time, on budget, and to the quality standards our customers and regulators expect.

What You Bring

  • A degree in Information Technology, Technical Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • The ability to take complex technical concepts and translate them into language that is clear, structured, and genuinely useful.
  • A methodical approach to documentation: you care about structure, consistency, and getting the details right.
  • Fluent German and strong English skills, written and spoken, as you will produce documentation for both domestic and international audiences.
  • Familiarity with relevant norms and military documentation standards such as IEC/IEEE 82079-1 or ISO 20607 is a plus.

Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.
