Our global Research department generates scientific evidence for the products and procedures developed by Arthrex and thereby supports innovation, evidence-based decision-making, and the worldwide availability of our products. To support this work, we are seeking a (Senior) Health Economist / HEOR Study Manager to join our team in Munich. This expert position is based within Clinical Research and offers the opportunity to support the development and expansion of Arthrex’s internal Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) capabilities.
Your Responsibilities
- Evidence generation: You will design and conduct health economic studies for different markets in Europe and the United States to assess the economic value of Arthrex products and procedures worldwide
- Data-driven HEOR insights: You will analyze clinical, health economic, and real-world data and independently develop health economic models for cost-effectiveness, cost-benefit, cost-utility, and budget-impact analyses using decision trees, Markov models, or other relevant approaches
- Scientific model foundation: Your responsibilities will also include conducting literature and data research to support the development of health economic models
- Evidence communication: You will prepare your results in the form of presentations, reports, and scientific manuscripts and present them to internal and external stakeholders
- Cross-functional HEOR collaboration: You will act as a scientific HEOR partner for cross-functional teams, including HEMA, Market Access & Reimbursement, and Product Management, translating scientific and health economic evidence into insights that support strategic decision-making
Your Profile
- You have successfully completed a degree in health economics, biostatistics, public health, economics, epidemiology, or a comparable scientific field, at master’s or preferably doctoral level
- You have +5 years of experience in Health Economics & Outcomes Research in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry, and the ability to independently lead complex HEOR projects and provide scientific guidance to internal stakeholders
- You have advanced knowledge of developing health economic models, particularly decision tree and Markov models, as well as conducting cost-benefit, cost-utility, cost-effectiveness, and budget impact analyses using analytical and modelling software such as Excel, including VBA, R, Python, or equivalent tools
- Experience with analyzing Real-World Data, particularly claims and EHR data, is a strong plus
- You have sound knowledge of healthcare and reimbursement systems in Europe and/or the United States
- You can efficiently analyze scientific literature and available data and prepare the results appropriately for different target audiences
- You enjoy working in an innovative, dynamic, and global team and are eager to contribute actively
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills round off your profile
