The Office of Academics announces an opening for an Hourly Administrative Specialist. 

The Hourly Administrative Specialist provides administrative and program support to the Homebound and Home Instruction office within the Office of Academics. The incumbent reports to the Coordinator of Homebound and Home Instruction and provides administrative support to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the office. 

Responsibilities

The work involves providing administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the Homebound and Home Instruction programs, including coordinating communications with families, schools, Central Office staff, and external partners; drafting correspondence and notifications; managing student records, program documentation, tracking systems, and databases; assisting with data collection in Microsoft Excel; and tracking tasks and following up on work in progress to ensure timely completion.

 

Qualifications-

High School diploma or GED (Associate Degree preferred); including or supplemented by courses in business and office practices with a minimum of two years’ responsible clerical experience, preferably in an education-related setting. Excellent human relations skills; ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees at all levels, including students, parents, and the public in a courteous and tactful manner.  Excellence in business English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Must have keen understanding of computer software, browsers, and operating systems in order to perform the job, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Skills working with data in spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel) is a key qualification.

Hourly Rate-$31.60 per hour
