G 26/27- SCHOOL TREASURER (Oakridge)

About this role

This is a 1.0 FTE position located at Oakridge Elementary School.

Responsibilities 

  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of financial reports with government accounting
    standards, financial accounting standards, and generally accepted accounting principles
    by thoroughly reviewing and monitoring all relevant documentation.
  • Maintains financial systems and records in compliance with internal audit policies.
  • Receives, receipts, accounts for, and deposits all school funds.
  • Verifies documentation for invoices and prepares them for payment.
  • Posts receipts and disbursements to school fund accounts.
  • Prepares purchase orders, verifies appropriate coding, and processes payments for school
    purchases.
  • Verify and track purchases to ensure goods and services are received accurately and as ordered.
  • Reconciles bank statements and prepares daily fund reports.
  • Prepares various fiscal, accounting, and statistical reports.
  • Coordinates preparation for external financial audits.
  • Monitor school budget accounts, assist with annual budget planning and forecasting, and provide regular financial updates to the principal
  • Maintains financial records for instructional supply budgets across departments.
  • Purchases supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Processes, submits, and maintains payroll and related records.
  • Coordinate and assign building usage for events, meetings, and other functions in accordance with
    policies and availability.
  • Receive, track, and process payments or fees related to building usage.
  • Assists in the assignment and documentation of substitute teachers.
  • Performs general clerical work and other related duties assigned.

     

Experience

  • Working knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.

     

Salary will be based on 26/27 Pay Plan.
