Reports to: QA Team Lead

Role Purpose

Administers and applies established manual testing practices to ensure product quality. Assists with routine test planning and execution activities across UI, API, and performance checks in an operational delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and applies defined test cases, checklists, and regression suites,
  • Processes results from test execution and responds to observed defects following set procedures,
  • Assists in test data preparation and environment readiness,
  • Coordinates with developers to reoduce routine issues.
  • Collects and collates test evidence (screenshots, logs, DB records) to support defect reports and release sign‑off packages,
  • Performs routine smoke/sanity/regression tests and operational checks aligned to agreed plans and policies,
  • Responds to changes in scope by updating assigned test cases under guidance,
  • Processes defect retests and closure steps.

Decision‑Making & Autonomy

  • Works on moderate‑scope problems,
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures,
  • Some autonomy with some direction, especially on new tasks

Customer Interaction

Primarily interacts within the QA team and starts to partner with adjacent teams to exchange factual information (build notes, repro steps, priorities).

Supervision

  • Receives some direction,
  • Periodic check‑ins for routine work,
  • Detailed instructions on new assignments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • ~2–4 years confirmed experience in software testing (or less if holding an advanced degree or equivalent experience),
  • Familiarity with test case management and defect tracking tools,
  • Basic understanding of UI/API/performance test concepts for manual execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to TestRail/Jira, REST clients, browser dev tools,
  • ISTQB Foundation (or similar).
