Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with a kind, shy and creative young man with a developmental disability. In this role, you will assist him with accessing his community and activities of interest. In the community, he enjoys attending an art club, seeing movies, going for walks, and opportunities for social interaction. He is working on building confidence with communication skills such as eye contact and transitioning through interactions. At home, he would like to complete activities for independence such as cooking, completing laundry, and shopping. The ideal candidate will have a fun sense of humor, effective communication skills, and strong organizational skills.

This individual has an inconsistent work schedule. He is seeking a staff that is willing to communicate regarding weekly availability, as it may differ.

Hours and days of work: 5-15 hours/week

Payrate: $25.00

Location: Oswego, NY

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assistance with independent living skills, support with health and safety and pursuing personal interests. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities a plus. A reliable vehicle and a valid NYS driver's license are required. All mileage accrued while with the individual is reimbursed. Qualifications
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be at least 18 years old
Effective communication and organizational skills required.
Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
