Job Summary
Cardinal Ritter College Prep is seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Girls Basketball Coach to support all aspects of the girls basketball program. The successful candidate will assist in developing student-athletes both on and off the court by promoting skill development, teamwork, discipline, leadership, sportsmanship, and academic success. This position works closely with the Head Coach to foster a positive and competitive program while ensuring compliance with all school, conference, and Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) regulations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and conducting practices and training sessions.
- Provide individual and team instruction to improve basketball fundamentals, game knowledge, and overall player development.
- Support game preparation, scouting, and implementation of team strategies.
- Assist with game-day operations, including supervision of student-athletes and coaching responsibilities.
- Help organize and manage program communications, equipment, uniforms, inventory, and recordkeeping.
- Encourage and monitor the academic progress, attendance, and character development of student-athletes.
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, respect, and leadership among team members.
- Build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, school staff, and the community.
- Ensure adherence to school policies, athletic department expectations, and MSHSAA rules and regulations.
- Support the overall mission and values of Cardinal Ritter College Prep.
Qualifications
- Previous playing and/or coaching experience in basketball, preferably at the high school or club level.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and team concepts.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and positively influence student-athletes.
- Commitment to the academic, personal, and athletic success of students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach, Athletic Director, faculty, and parents.
- Must meet all district, diocesan, and state coaching certification and background check requirements.
