About You

We are looking for an experienced freelance Communications Consultant to support our growing portfolio of B2B, corporate and technology clients across Malaysia. You are a skilled and strategic communications professional with experience leading client programmes, managing projects independently and building trusted client relationships. Equally comfortable providing strategic counsel and delivering day-to-day programme execution, you thrive in fast-paced environments, adapt quickly to different clients and industries, and business challenges.

You have strong business acumen and enjoy helping organizations communicate complex ideas with clarity and confidence. Whether developing executive positioning, thought leadership, corporate communications or integrated B2B campaigns, you translate technical and business topics into compelling narratives through exceptional writing and strategic thinking.

You are collaborative, commercially aware and naturally curious about evolving industries, emerging technologies and the changing communications landscape. Comfortable working independently while integrating seamlessly into client teams, you consistently deliver thoughtful communications solutions that create meaningful impact.

What You Do

As a freelance Communications Consultant, you partner with our teams to deliver strategic communications programmes for leading regional and global organisations.

• Lead the day-to-day delivery of PR and integrated communications programmes across a portfolio of clients.

• Develop and implement strategic communications plans that support client business and brand objectives.

• Manage projects independently, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard, on time and within agreed timelines.

• Build trusted relationships with clients by providing proactive counsel and practical communications solutions.

• Develop messaging, media materials, thought leadership content and integrated campaign ideas.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with media and relevant stakeholders.

• Collaborate closely with Archetype teams across strategy, creative and client servicing to deliver integrated communications programmes.

• Step into existing account teams quickly and confidently, contributing from day one.

What You Offer

• Approximately 4+ years' experience in communications consulting or in-house communications, with experience equivalent to a Manager level or above.

• Proven experience managing multiple client projects independently with strong project management and organisational skills.

• Experience providing strategic communications counsel, not just campaign execution.

• Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to translate ideas into clear, compelling and impactful communications across different audiences, channels and formats.

• Strong understanding of the Malaysian media and KOL landscape.

• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with agency teams.

• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with excellent attention to detail.

• Curiosity, adaptability and enthusiasm for learning, bringing fresh thinking and new perspectives to client work.
