About this role
St. Leo the Great / St. Vincent de Paul Parish and Holy Rosary Parish located in Baltimore, seek candidates for the position of Custodian. The Custodian performs routine cleaning and maintenance of the parish buildings and property. This position reports directly to the Pastors or their delegate and works collaboratively with other facilities staff at both locations. This post is a split-site position working 30 hours per week. The work schedule will be agreed upon by the Pastors. Must have availability to respond to on-call emergencies.
Essential Functions
- Helps ensure parish buildings and grounds are clean and orderly.
- Assists Facilities Superintendent in maintenance tasks as needed.
- Must be able to operate small equipment for cleaning, etc.
- Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and waxes floors, washes walls and windows, removes dust and debris as needed.
- Removes trash from inside the building and from the grounds.
- Performs minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing filters and bulbs.
Position Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid Maryland driver's license with no more than 3 points.
- Previous cleaning/maintenance experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety standards for use of cleaning equipment and products preferred.
- Ability to safely and securely lift and carry heavy equipment.
Pay Range: $17.00 - $19.00, Hourly
