About this role
This is a ten-month position within the Athletics Department, and compensation is commensurate with experience. Essential duties and responsibilities are outlined below; however, additional duties may be assigned by the Director of Athletics or the Assistant Athletic Director as needed.
Essential Functions
Athletic Equipment and Inventory
- Assist with the maintenance, inventory, and ordering process of athletic equipment across all programs.
Practice Scheduling
- Assist with the preparation and publishing of the Spalding practice schedule.
- Facilitate changes with the Assistant Athletic Director of practice changes, in conjunction with the coaching staff.
Pre-Game Preparation
- Assist with the planning and preparation for game day events, including coordinating with various departments and external
vendors. - Prepare and distribute game day schedules, staff assignments, and emergency procedures.
- Ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are in place for the event.
Game Day Management:
- Oversee the smooth and efficient flow of game day operations, including crowd control, security, and emergency preparedness.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of game day staff, ensuring that they are performing their duties effectively.
- Respond promptly to any issues or emergencies that arise during the event.
Crowd Control and Supervision
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for all participants and spectators.
- Monitor crowd behavior and intervene when necessary to prevent or address disruptive behavior.
- Provide assistance and direction to spectators, ensuring that they are aware of game day policies and procedures.
Playing Space Management
- Ensure that the playing space is properly set up and maintained for the event.
- Coordinate with the officiating crew to ensure that all game day rules and regulations are followed.
- Address any issues that arise with the playing surface or equipment during the event.
Post-Game Procedures
- Assist with the breakdown and removal of game day equipment and supplies. o Complete post-game reports and documentation.
- Provide feedback to the Assistant Athletics Director on the effectiveness of game day operations.
Summer Camp
- Assist with the facilitation of summer camps on-campus.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in game day operations or a related field
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain a professional demeanor
- Commitment to safety and security
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in crowd control and supervision
- Knowledge of high school athletics rules and regulations
- Experience with event management software
Physical Demands
- The ability to stand for extended periods of time in indoor/outdoor conditions
- The ability to walk and climb stairs
- The ability to lift and carry moderate weights
Pay Range: $45,000 – 53,000, Annualized
