The Primary Grade-Level Classroom Aide supports the classroom teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, organized, and faith-filled learning environment for young children. Working collaboratively with the teacher(s) and primary-grade team, the Classroom Aide provides instructional, organizational, and student-support assistance that allows the classroom teacher to focus on high-quality instruction and student learning.

The ideal candidate is warm, patient, dependable, flexible, and enthusiastic about working with young children. The Teacher Aide should model the Catholic values of kindness, respect, service, compassion, and responsibility in interactions with students, families, and colleagues.

While the classroom teacher maintains responsibility for instruction, assessment, classroom management, and communication with families, the Teacher Aide is expected to actively contribute to the success of the classroom by anticipating needs, supporting students, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and working cooperatively with the teacher

Above all, the Primary Grade-Level Classroom Aide helps create a classroom in which every child feels known, valued, supported, and capable of learning and growing.
