The Communications Coordinator is an administrative role that supports the communications of Transfiguration Parish in executing and monitoring communications strategies. This role involves creating marketing materials such as bulletin publications, social media, website, digital and print advertising, email newsletters, and other communications materials to further the mission of the parish and the Universal Catholic Church.

Work Schedule:

Monday- Friday, weekend availability, or as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadline.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, nonverbal communications, and English grammar.
  • Strong understanding of social media marketing, including the effective use of using Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube platforms to reach followers. Knowledge and experience posting on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Knowledge of Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Slides, Gmail,Canva).
  • Commitment to delivering results and utilizing data for insight.
  • Able to occasionally work nights and weekends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • A passion for the Catholic faith and a desire to share this with others. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain effective and professional working relationships with students, staff, supervisors and members of the school.
  • Fluent in Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Create content for parish social media and other marketing platforms (website, bulletin, emails, TV's, etc.) to promote parish events and initiatives using Canva.
  • Maintain the parish's presence on social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Produce, edit, and publish short videos.
  • Capture photos at events to promote parish activities.
  • Stay updated on communication trends and technology, making recommendations for strategy adjustments and researching ways to expand outreach, both online and in print. 
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. 
  • Work independently, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and make decisions. 
  • Maintain effective and professional working relationships with parishioners, staff, and supervisors.
  • Performs other related administrative duties as may be necessary and assigned by the Pastor and Business Manager.

Job Type: Part-time (25 hours per week)

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in communications, public relations experience or related field preferred.

Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design, or related field required.

This position has an hourly range of $20.00-$25.00. An employee’s pay within the range is based on relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, location & business needs.
