About this role

What You’ll Do

As an Engineering Technician, you will take ownership of CNC machine setup and process stabilization within your assigned production cells. You will prepare tooling, load programs, set machine components, adjust offsets, and guide each setup through first-article approval. You will then monitor the initial 25-part production run to confirm the process is centered, repeatable, and capable of meeting production goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up CNC machines, bar feeders, and robotic equipment for efficient production.
  • Preset, install, and set tools, collets, guide bushings, workholding fixtures, and related components according to tool sheets.
  • Upload and download CNC programs using DNC software and partner with the Programmer to verify cycle-time and throughput targets.
  • Adjust machine offsets to achieve first-article approval and maintain production within specification.
  • Monitor the initial 25-part production run and review inspection data to confirm a centered, stable, and repeatable process.
  • Perform in-process inspections as needed and read and interpret blueprints and balloon drawings.
  • Inspect tooling and tool holders for wear or damage, replace inserts at established tool-life limits, and evaluate whirling inserts for re-sharpening.
  • Verify machine alignment and make or coordinate adjustments as needed.
  • Remove and properly disposition tooling from previous setups and complete required line-clearance activities.
  • Partner with Maintenance on preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
