Product Evaluation Systems (PES) assists commercial and industrial clients by providing materials testing services through our full-service testing laboratory. Our capabilities include metallurgy, mechanical testing, chemical testing, failure analysis, machining, and nondestructive testing. We cater our services to each client’s unique testing needs. Our experienced engineers, chemists, metallurgists, and technicians provide assistance to the additive manufacturing, aerospace, steel manufacturing, power generation, mining, and oil & gas industries, among others. As part of the ATS family of companies, we can offer additional inspection, calibration, and consulting engineering capabilities when clients need a broader scope of services.
Position summary: This position is responsible for preparing material for incoming and outgoing shipping, documenting accordingly. Essential functions and responsibilities:
• Receive and assist in opening packages.
• Review all paperwork received with samples, contact customer with any discrepancies.
• Create work order, assign sample numbers, and enter all necessary sample information into logbook.
• Obtain all necessary estimates, emails, and test specifications associated with jobs to include in work order packets.
• Label test samples and work order bins.
• Create sample bags and packets for distribution throughout shop and test labs.
• Generate and prepare test reports.
• Create and maintain test report templates and logbook attributes for consistent work/customers.
• Assign test types for invoicing.
• Communicate with Sales for expedited testing sectioning fees, due dates, estimates, and customer contacts.
• Scan all documents associated with job orders.
• Pull samples for retest / additional testing, edit logbook and test reports to reflect required testing and due dates; monitor status and email appropriate personnel concerning due dates.
• Organize spent test samples and excess material, contact customers for material disposition.
• Package and return material using customers’ preferred shipping method.
• Dispose of unwanted material in proper locations.
• Write purchase orders for sub-contracted work.
• Dispatch driver to daily pick-up and drop-off locations.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• Must sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.

Workdays and shifts: • Monday – Friday, daytime hours.
• May need to work outside core operating hours as requested.
Education/Certification(s)/License(s) required
• High School diploma or equivalency. Experience/Other required:
• No experience required, one to two (1-2) years of prior experience working in Shipping and Receiving preferred.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Word, Excel) and Outlook. • Familiarity with courier services (e.g., UPS, FedEx).
