Quality Engineer, Test and Automation
Cupertino · On-site
About this role
The Security Engineering and Architecture QA team is seeking a QA engineer to test a range of security projects. You will design and build tests for security features and partner with QA and software engineers, both on the team and across the organization, to plan the work, execute it, and report results in a fast moving environment.
You will design and implement test plans for the security features developed across the Security Engineering and Architecture organization. This begins with building a deep understanding of the technology under test, working alongside the engineers who own it, and translating that understanding into thorough manual and automated coverage. You will develop and maintain the tests themselves, investigate and debug the issues they surface, and report results clearly to the teams who depend on them. The role is equally an engineering role and a collaborative one. You will write and build test tooling, and you will also spend meaningful time communicating with developers, Engineering Program Managers, and other QA engineers to shape test plans, reach agreement on approach, and keep work moving as priorities shift. Success depends on both the depth of your technical work and your ability to coordinate across teams.
Typically 5 or more years of experience as a Software QA Automation Engineer, or equivalent demonstrated capability Proficiency in one or more scripting or programming languages, such as Swift, Objective-C, or Python Experience developing test frameworks and automated test tooling Experience designing automated and manual tests that surface hard to find defects Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to align stakeholders across teams Strong analytical skills, with the ability to investigate issues independently Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond efficiently
Demonstrated use of LLMs or AI tooling to improve quality, failure triage, or automation workflows Familiarity with macOS/iOS platform technologies. Experience using Xcode to write, triage, and debug automation scripts. Track record of mentoring engineers and leading cross-team quality initiatives
