This apartment community has 254 units and is located in Grand Rapids, MI.

The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the property in a safe, attractive and comfortable condition. This individual will maintain relationships with other service staff, residents and vendors. Some key responsibilities will include providing the highest level of customer service, make regular inspections of grounds and buildings as part of a preventative maintenance plan, complete service requests and assist with the apartment make-ready process. The Lead Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to
Prepare vacant apartment homes for occupancy by making any necessary repairs
Complete work orders in occupied homes while providing fast, friendly service
Assists in organization and assignment of service work orders at the Maintenance Supervisor's direction
Follow preventive maintenance guidelines
Maintain property grounds
HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance and all other service requests
Team work to achieve property goals
Follow safety procedures
Assists in maintaining inventory, required company logs, orderliness, and safety of tools, equipment, supplies and maintenance shop
Assists with mentoring and training other grounds and maintenance technicians at the Maintenance Supervisor's direction
Qualifications
Hard worker
Valid Driver's License with valid vehicle insurance
EPA Certification highly preferred
Experience with pools highly preferred, CPO a plus
Strong customer service skills and the ability to work well on a team
Strong organizational skills and communication skills
High School diploma or equivalent
Facilities maintenance background required, 1-2 years of similar experience preferred
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
Must be available after hours and weekends for on-call responsibilities (rotated schedule) and snow removal
