Position Details

  • Position: Full-Time Speech-Language Pathologist (FMLA Leave Coverage)

  • Grade Levels: 9th–12th Grade

  • Setting: Onsite

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:15 AM–2:25 PM

  • Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week

  • Duration: August 10, 2026 – November 10, 2026

Caseload & Responsibilities

  • Manage a blended caseload of approximately 45 students

  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services in accordance with student IEPs

  • Support students in developing functional communication and life skills

  • Work with students with low-incidence disabilities and complex communication needs

  • Implement and support Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems

  • Utilize evidence-based behavioral intervention strategies to maximize student engagement and communication

  • Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate and timely documentation

  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, families, and administrators to support student success

Additional caseload details will be provided during the interview process.

Transition & Support

To help ensure a successful start, the selected SLP will receive 2–3 days of overlap with the current Speech-Language Pathologist. This transition period will provide valuable time to review student programming, therapy schedules, documentation, and daily routines before assuming the caseload.

Qualifications

  • Active Illinois IDFPR Speech-Language Pathologist License required

  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) through ISBE required

  • Previous school-based experience preferred

  • Experience working with students with low-incidence disabilities strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of AAC systems and behavioral intervention strategies is highly desired
