Position Details

  • Position: Full-Time Physical Therapist (PT) – Itinerant

  • Grade Levels: K–12th Grade

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:30 AM–3:40 PM

  • Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week

  • Setting: Onsite

  • School Year: August 2026 – May 28, 2027

  • Daily Schedule: May vary based on student availability and service needs

Caseload & Responsibilities

  • Manage an anticipated caseload of approximately 45 students

  • Provide physical therapy services across multiple school campuses

  • Support students with a range of physical, motor, mobility, and functional needs

  • Provide services in both general education and special education settings

  • Support students receiving supported education as well as students with more significant support needs

  • Provide direct physical therapy services to improve access, mobility, and participation in educational activities

  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and school staff to support students' functional mobility throughout the school day

  • Provide consultation and classroom-based support as appropriate

  • Develop strategies, accommodations, and environmental modifications that promote student independence and access

  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute PT recommendations and documentation

  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on individual needs

Qualifications

  • Active Illinois IDFPR Physical Therapy license required

  • Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively across multiple school campuses

  • Passion for helping students develop greater independence and access to their educational environment

  • Competitive salary of $60,000+ depending on experience
