School Social Worker | Full-Time | On-Site | $70,000–$90,000

We’re hiring a School Social Worker to support students in a unique high school program serving grades 9–12. This school takes a proactive, relationship-centered approach to student support, with a strong focus on rapport building, conflict mediation, family engagement, and helping students thrive without relying on traditional disciplinary practices.

  • Location: Washington, DC
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
  • Status: Full-Time, On-Site
  • Salary: $70,000–$90,000

What You’ll Do:

  • Support approximately 10 students on your caseload while building relationships with the broader student population
  • Provide proactive support around student behavior, social-emotional needs, and conflict
  • Facilitate and support conflict mediation and restorative conversations
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and school staff
  • Lead family engagement efforts
  • Track student data and monitor progress
  • Collaborate with the school team to support students with emotional and behavioral needs
  • Provide support beyond required IEP service minutes

Qualifications:

  • LICSW strongly preferred
  • School Services Personnel (SSP) credential strongly preferred
  • LGSW candidates may be considered
  • Experience working with students with emotional/behavioral needs is highly valued
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
