Description

A Senior/Principal Sustainability Consultant will be responsible for a portfolio of clients and will lead a small team of junior consultants. Working on both national and international client cases. What we expect can be divided in two major areas: Client & Project Delivery & Business Development


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of consulting projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard of quality.
  • Act as a strategic point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Provide expert input and quality assurance across projects, reviewing work and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop and present reports and presentations, and facilitate workshops where required.
  • Support the development of proposals and contribute to winning new business alongside our commercial teams.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of our sustainability services, creating templates, supporting training and sharing your expertise internally.
  • Manage and support a small team of junior consultants, helping them develop their skills and grow within the team.
  • Help drive the growth of our Belgian market, working closely with commercial colleagues.
  • Depending on your experience and interests, you may specialise in areas such as GHG calculations, decarbonisation, supplier engagement, LCA, circular economy and other sustainability topics.


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • 5+ years of experience in sustainability consulting or a sustainability-focused client-side role.
  • Strong technical expertise in GHG accounting (Scopes 1, 2 and 3) and decarbonisation planning, including supplier engagement and complex value chain analysis.
  • Experience with sustainability due diligence requirements, both voluntary (e.g. SBTi, EcoVadis) and regulatory (e.g. CSDDD, EUDR).
  • Strong Excel skills (intermediate level or above), with experience in data analysis and modelling.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills, with confidence presenting to clients, facilitating discussions and communicating complex topics clearly.
  • A university or higher education background in Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, Sustainable Energy Technology, Climate Studies, Business Administration, Sustainability Science & Policy, or a related field.
  • A genuine interest in sustainability, climate change, circular economy and the energy transition.
  • A proactive, analytical and organised approach, with the ability to quickly get up to speed on new topics and take ownership.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in an international environment.
  • Fluent Dutch (native or full professional proficiency) and English are essential. French is a plus.
