ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

General description of main/primary duties and responsibilities of the job, aptitude, level of complexity, span of control, autonomy, decision making and judgement.  It is central and necessary to the satisfactory performance of the job. Includes the following and other duties as assigned.

Under general supervision, this position will:

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance of gas compressor packages, air compressors and Generac generators.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues with Generac generators, natural gas compressor packages and single and 3 phase air compressors.
  • Assist with adjusting functional parts of mechanical and electrical devices as necessary or determine other actionable steps to resolve issues.
  • Maintain and operate equipment to manufacture spec and permitting guidelines.
  • Accurately complete and submit in a timely manner all work orders assigned. Log and update the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Experience, Licensure (minimum level required)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.

 

CORE COMPETENCIES 

List and describe the required factors (i.e. knowledge, skills, abilities, software programs, equipment, competencies), that are needed for this role.  Indicate the level of proficiency/expertise for each when possible.

  • Basic operational mechanical and maintenance knowledge of natural gas engines and gas compressors.
  • Basic knowledge of electric motors and controls.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Understanding of Pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. and use/operation of standard office equipment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with others internally and externally.
  • Function as a detail-oriented self-starter, and work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining goals and tasks.
  • Ability to build relationships, establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally to achieve goals of the organization.

 

SAFETY SENSITIVE RELATED

  • Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.
  • Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.

This position may be subject to:

  • Exposure to computer screens and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system.
  • Extreme Cold and Heat: temperatures typically below 32o F or above 100o F for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions as wind, rain, snow, and humidity.
  • Noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
  • Vibration: exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
  • Confined Space: work areas large enough for individual to enter, limited means of entry or exit, and not designed for continue occupancy.
  • Hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals, combustibles, explosives, etc.

 

HOURS / SHIFTS

  • Regular business hours.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally lift, push, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently be able to bend, stoop, crouch, etc.
  • Frequent amount of traversing through challenging terrain to perform work, evaluate sites and conditions, inspect equipment/assets, etc.

 

TRAVEL

Approximate amount of time: Minimal (under 25%); Regularly (25% - 75%); Frequent (more than 75%).

  • Minimal travel may be required to other locations.
  • Frequent travel to Company’s field operations and/or offices. Approximately 95% of time in field.
