The Shipping Coordinator verifies and keep’s records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, and shipping merchandise or material; verifying and recording outgoing merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products. They will use various tools and techniques to support their assigned department. They are highly motivated and have a desire to work in a fast paced, quality centered environment. This role is vital to ensuring our customers’ needs are consistently met, promoting our company’s continued strong national growth.

Primary Responsibilities

Prepares bills of lading for each shipment and checks and records all items loaded for shipment, as needed.
Assist in the oversight of fast paced Shipping department.
Notifies manager when major discrepancies occur, over – shipments or substitutions have been made.
Maintains shipping records.
Prepares shipments via FedEx, UPS or other third-party carriers.
Coordinates shipment schedules with drivers to reach customer requirements.
Driving Shipping department to consistently meet or exceed established metrics.
Examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Manage logistics and shipping requirements, coordinating with production facilities to ensure timely delivery.
Communicate with subcontractors to submit expedite requests and follow -up on open orders.
Perform other related duties as instructed.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
1+ year relevant experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instruction. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of management.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Environment/Physical Requirements with or without Accommodation:

This position is carried out in a fabrication shop environment and as such has the following physical work requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 100lbs.
Position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Position may require bending, kneeling, and stooping.
Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals.
