Assistant Manager, Procurement
About this role
The role is responsible for obtaining goods, raw materials, utilities, and services required across pharmaceutical business processes. The role leads product and service sourcing, supplier selection and relationship management, and supports bid review, pricing and terms negotiation, and contract development. It ensures procurement activities align with cost optimization, supply continuity, and regulatory and ethical standards. The role actively monitors supplier performance, manages procurement budgets, and collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to support operational efficiency. It contributes to strategic sourcing decisions, strengthens supplier partnerships, and ensures procurement outcomes support business objectives and long-term supply reliability.
Essential Functions:
- Lead product and service sourcing for materials, utilities, and services
- Manage supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding processes
- Conduct bid review, evaluation, and comparative analysis
- Drive pricing, cost, and terms negotiation with suppliers
- Support contract development, renewal, and compliance
- Monitor and improve supplier performance and relationships
- Manage procurement budgets and cost optimization initiatives
- Coordinate with stakeholders on technical and commercial requirements
- Track market intelligence and supplier benchmarking data
- Ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and governance standards
