About this role

The Material Handler is accountable for safety, 5S, shipping, receiving freight, locating freight, put-aways, picking orders, shipping & receiving, cycle counting, assembly, process improvement and team productivity. 

 

  • Ensures all safety procedures are followed and actively works to improve our safety program.

  • Ensures all quality procedures are followed and actively works to improve our quality program.

  • Manage workflow and delivery of merchandise throughout the plant. 

  • Coordinate and execute the delivery of materials to machines from its inventory location. 

  • Reweigh and return any residual unused material. Make sure it is labeled with name of material and qty.

  • Coordinate and execute the movement of work order in process to each machine, as needed. 

  • Stage finished goods neatly in designated finished goods location

  • Transacting materials consumed by production in ERP

  • Maintain a clean & organized working environment (5s) 

  • Pick orders timely & correctly

  • Cycle count materials

  • Learn & navigate our inventory control system 

  • Ability to check-in, put away parts

  • Prepare handling of goods

  • Material receipts

  • Ability to pick & pack orders sturdy & presentable

  • Support shipping/receiving

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements of the job

 

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

  • Tow motor experience/pallet jack 

  • Flexible with hours

  • Computer processing experience (Microsoft office/Excel) 

  • Warehouse experience using barcode scanners.

  • Must be able to work in the US.

  • Detail oriented

  • Communicates effectively.

  • Works well within a Team environment.

 

Physical demands

 

  • Ability to frequently lift-up to 55 pounds.

  • This position is very active and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing; use of hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.

  • This position requires frequent communications with other employees and freight carriers.  Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
