Supply Chain Manager
About this role
- Achieve on-time delivery performance targets in alignment with business objectives
- Reduce material lead times by optimizing supplier stock plans and developing alternative sourcing strategies
- Improve customer lead times through effective material planning and coordination with production scheduling
- Optimize inventory levels using item and supplier analysis methodologies
- Manage and reduce shipping and tariff costs through data-driven analysis
- Prevent stock-outs and production line disruptions
Team Leadership and Operations
- Lead and develop the procurement team to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials
- Oversee the production planning team to align schedules with inventory, labor, and customer demand
- Manage shipping and receiving operations to ensure accurate and efficient processing
- Build and maintain supplier relationships; negotiate contracts to achieve favorable terms
Process Deployment and Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and manage inventory to balance production requirements and inventory levels
- Integrate planning across procurement, production, and logistics to optimize efficiency and reduce lead times
- Implement best practices in shipping and receiving to minimize delays and errors
- Improve order entry processes to enhance accuracy and streamline workflows
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and teamwork
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain effectiveness
- Prepare and present reports on supply chain performance, risks, and improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and quality standards
Strategic Responsibilities
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with production and financial goals
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvements, and increased efficiency through strategic sourcing
- Evaluate and manage outsourcing relationships, ensuring performance meets quality and delivery expectations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or a related function within a manufacturing or production environment
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership or people management role
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-informed decisions
- Experience with ERP and MRP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics and/or SAP)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in planning and execution
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Advanced degree in a related field
- Professional certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCP, CPIM)
