Production Operator- 2nd Shift

About this role

The Production Operator role is responsible to run numerical control machines which has been previously set up that automatically performs manufacturing processes. The role also examines product for defects and completeness, using microscope and measurement equipment.

 

The Production Operator's duties and responsibilities Include:

  • Read blueprints, work instructions, and drawings to determine visual inspection criteria, workpiece measurements, and material requirements.

  • Read and verify document kit and enter information on appropriate paperwork to track progress.

  • Set up microscope over measuring instrument which may include minor setup of spools, laser or other machines.

  • Position, adjust, and secure workpiece in a mandrel, fixture, or automatic feeding mechanism.

  • Activate machine to automatically perform manufacturing processes.

  • Monitor machine operation and control panel displays to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.

  • Select parts randomly according to control charts.

  • Visually examine product for defects and completeness using microscope.

  • Inspect workpiece for defects and measures workpiece, using rule, template, or other measuring instruments to determine accuracy of machine operation.

  • May sort or rework parts.

  • May replace and adjust cutting device, spools or tools.

  • Prepare, fill, label, and transport packages per work instruction.         

  • Remove and transport finished work pieces and packages as specified making sure to protect material from damage while handling.

  • Obtain material, trays and carriers.

  • Return excess material to inventory.                                  

  • Perform any other related duties and assignments as required.

 

Production Operator Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

  • Manufacturing experience is preferred.

  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions, such as shop packet, standard work instructions, and various visual aids.

  • Ability to use basic math and measuring devices.

  • Good manual dexterity is helpful.

  • Good time management to work at a good pace, executing word orders and demands.

  • Ability to handle basic tools.
