American National is seeking a UX/UI Specialist II with a strong focus on UI design to help shape intuitive, accessible, and visually engaging digital experiences across our growing digital platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on product designer who is strong in Figma, thrives in an Agile environment where close collaboration with product managers, developers, and stakeholders is essential, and is excited to bring user-centered design thinking to web and mobile experiences.
What You’ll Do
- Design clean, responsive, and user-friendly digital experiences for web and mobile platforms, including customer-facing and internal enterprise platforms
- Create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity designs, interactive prototypes, and production-ready specifications using Figma
- Partner closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, UX researchers, developers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements and research insights into effective design solutions
- Contribute to and maintain design system standards, reusable components, and consistent visual patterns across digital products
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, refinements, reviews, and cross-functional design discussions
- Present design recommendations clearly and confidently, using research, analytics, usability feedback, and business context to support decisions
- Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, including AI-assisted workflows and emerging design tools
What We’re Looking For
- Two + years of UX/UI, product design, visual design, or related digital design experience
- Intermediate to advanced Figma skills, including auto layout, components, variables, prototyping, and design system management
- Strong understanding of responsive design, interaction design, information hierarchy, and accessibility best practices
- Experience designing for digital products, enterprise applications, dashboards, client portals, or similar user-facing platforms
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with product, engineering, and business teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A portfolio that clearly demonstrates your design process, level of ownership, and examples of shipped or production-ready work
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or SAFe environments
- Background in insurance, financial services, healthcare, fintech, or another highly regulated industry
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or design-adjacent tools
- Familiarity with React, CSS, Tailwind, developer handoff, or design-to-development collaboration
- Interest in AI-enabled design workflows and tools that improve speed, consistency, and collaboration
