- Assist in organizing, promoting, and overseeing all tennis instruction, including private lessons, group programs, junior tennis, leagues, and clinics.
- Ensure the success of club competitions and tournaments by collaborating with the Tennis Director or Event Coordinator on preparation, staging, scoreboards, rules, and formats.
- Support tennis shop operations by performing or supervising daily tasks such as:
- Checking in members and guests
- Taking court reservations and communicating court fees
- Maximizing reservation utilization through techniques such as double-booking, credit card guarantees, callbacks, tournaments, and targeted selling
- Using the POS system to process purchases, credit card transactions, and league/tournament entries
- Answering telephones in accordance with ACE/AGC standards
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked shop
- Completing opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and end-of-day reconciliation
- Assist in the supervision of tennis operations staff by interviewing candidates, recommending hires, overseeing orientation and training, scheduling, evaluating performance, and administering discipline in accordance with AGC policies and applicable laws.
- Support administrative functions by contributing to annual departmental budget preparation, generating daily/weekly/monthly reports, and preparing tournament/league financial reconciliations.
- Market and promote tennis programs through creative campaigns, special events, advertising, and member engagement initiatives.
- Oversee tennis merchandise operations, including purchasing, pricing, display, promotions, discounts, inventory counts, and cost-of-sales reporting.
- Support and implement all AGC initiatives and management directives.
- USPTA membership preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience teaching tennis.
- Strong time-management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills.
- Basic math proficiency.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Work schedule varies based on program needs; evening, weekend, and holiday shifts required.
- Duties may require extended standing, walking, climbing, balancing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
