Landscape Gardener
About this role
- Install, maintain, and care for flowers, shrubs, trees, ornamental plants, and landscaped areas throughout the property.
- Perform seasonal planting, pruning, mulching, fertilizing, watering, and general landscape maintenance activities.
- Monitor plant health and identify potential issues related to disease, pests, irrigation, or environmental conditions.
- Recommend appropriate plant materials and landscaping improvements for various areas of the club and golf course.
- Assist with landscape renovation, beautification, and enhancement projects.
- Maintain landscape beds, walkways, entry areas, clubhouse grounds, and other designated areas to company standards.
- Operate landscaping equipment, hand tools, and motorized equipment safely and effectively.
- Support irrigation and watering efforts to promote healthy plant growth and appearance.
- Remove weeds, debris, dead plant material, and other landscape hazards as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and environmental best practices while performing duties.
- Assist with special projects and seasonal property preparation as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in landscaping, horticulture, plant care, grounds maintenance, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of plant identification, seasonal planting, pruning, fertilization, irrigation, and landscape maintenance practices.
- Ability to safely operate landscaping tools, equipment, and motor vehicles.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality outdoor environments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and proper equipment operation.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, humidity, and wind.
- Requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and repetitive physical activity.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Frequent use of landscaping tools, motorized equipment, vehicles, and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Exposure to moving mechanical equipment, uneven terrain, outdoor elements, dust, pollen, insects, fertilizers, and landscaping materials.
- May require early mornings, weekends, holidays, and seasonal schedule adjustments based on operational needs.
- Moderate noise levels are typical due to equipment operation and outdoor work activities.
