The Concierge serves as the first point of contact for guests, managing front desk operations and ensuring a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment. This role assists with guest check-in/out, responds to inquiries, and coordinates transportation and security.

The pay rate will be $19.50/hr.

This is a part-time, benefit-eligible position working 20 hours per week. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 4:00 PM–8:00 PM.

A 10% shift differential applies to hours worked after 6:00 PM. A 15% shift differential applies to Sunday shifts.

This evening Concierge position provides additional support during one of the Hope Lodge’s busiest periods for guest check-ins, meals, activities, and programming. While the role includes traditional front desk and administrative responsibilities, a primary focus will be supporting the EMPOWER Program, promoting activities, engaging guests, and helping create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for patients and caregivers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Greet guests and support check-in, check-out, and evening front desk procedures

  • Promote and support EMPOWER Program activities, meals, events, and other guest programming

  • Engage guests and encourage participation in activities such as trivia, music, meals, chair yoga, and other established programs

  • Work closely with EMPOWER and activity volunteers to help coordinate, prepare, and support scheduled programming

  • Assist with activity setup and help ensure guests are aware of upcoming lodge events and programs

  • Respond to guest questions, requests, concerns, and needs with compassion and professionalism

  • Provide information about lodge amenities, activities, and available resources

  • Complete light administrative duties and maintain accurate guest and program information

  • Support the front desk during busy evening check-in periods

  • Maintain a warm, welcoming, engaging, and organized lodge environment

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Additional education or training in hospitality, customer service, recreation, events, or community programming is a plus

  • Previous experience in hospitality, guest services, customer service, events, recreation, community engagement, or a related field is preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of Customer Service Experience

  • Experience working with volunteers, facilitating activities, or supporting group programming is a plus

  • Ability to balance guest-facing responsibilities with administrative and front desk duties

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently when needed

  • Adaptability and comfort working in an environment where guest needs and priorities may change throughout the shift

  • Compassion and sensitivity when interacting with people facing cancer and their caregivers

  • Proficiency with basic computer systems and ability to learn lodge-specific technology and administrative processes

  • Ability to consistently work the required Sunday through Thursday, 4:00 PM–8:00 PM schedule

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimal travel required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The role may require extended periods of standing and walking, particularly during front desk duties, guest activities, and while assisting guests throughout the lodge

  • Occasional lifting and moving of packages, activity supplies, or other items may be necessary

  • Some manual tasks, such as setting up activities, arranging materials, or assisting guests, may be required

  • The role may involve physical endurance to manage multiple responsibilities and remain actively engaged with guests throughout the shift
