Position Summary
The Heavy Equipment Lube Technician supports the maintenance team by performing routine preventative services on heavy equipment and commercial vehicles. This includes oil changes, inspections, fluid checks, and basic filter replacements. The role helps ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and compliant with operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine oil changes and lubrication services on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment
Inspect equipment for signs of wear, damage, leaks, worn belts, and tire conditions
Check and top off all fluid levels including coolant, transmission, power steering, and windshield washer fluid
Replace air, fuel, and cabin filters as needed
Conduct basic visual inspections to identify safety or maintenance concerns
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including proper disposal of used oil, filters, and parts
Adhere to all company and industry safety protocols and procedures
Communicate clearly with supervisors and technicians regarding additional service needs or potential repairs
Assist mechanics and technicians with maintenance tasks and repairs as assigned
Stay informed about basic heavy equipment trends and service practices
Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and organizational goals
QualificationsQualifications
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Class 1 Driver’s License
Skills & Knowledge
Prior experience in heavy equipment or commercial vehicle maintenance preferred
Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and reporting a plus
Oil and gas industry maintenance experience preferred

Work Environment & Physical Demands
Regular exposure to moving machinery, outdoor weather conditions, diesel fumes, chemicals, dust, and moderate to loud noise levels.
Must be able to frequently lift, lower, carry, and move materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 65 pounds.
Must be able to push and pull equipment, carts, hoses, or other objects requiring up to 100 pounds of force.
Requires frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and working at ground level for extended periods.
Must be able to climb and descend ladders, steps, platforms, and equipment while maintaining balance and stability.
Requires sufficient manual dexterity and fine motor coordination to operate tools, manipulate small parts, assemble and disassemble components, and perform maintenance and repair tasks.
Requires the physical stamina to perform repetitive physical activities throughout the workday while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and other safety equipment.
Requires visual acuity to inspect equipment, read gauges, identify defects, and safely perform maintenance and operational tasks.
Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and other personnel in shop, office, and field environments, as applicable.
